To promote and protect the health, safety and welfare of animals and people in the state of Tennessee, through proactive education and representation.
According to TN Code 44-17-303, "Euthanasia shall be performed only by a licensed veterinarian, TN VMT or an employee or agent of a public or private agency, animal shelter or other facility operated for the collection, care or euthanasia of stray, neglected, abandoned or unwanted non-livestock animals, provided that the TN veterinarian medical technician, employee or agent has successfully completed a euthanasia-technician certification course."
This course is a 2 day course that has been approved by the TN Board of Veterinary Examiners as the first step to receive a Certified Euthanasia Technician Certification in TN. The course is 8am-5pm each day and lunch and training materials are provided.
Those that wish to attend this course MUST register and payment MUST be processed before the applicant can attend the course. Once registration and payment have been received, the registrant will be notified via email that they have been enrolled in the course. Any registrations not paid in full 1 week prior to class will be unregistered from the course and the space given to someone on the waitlist.
